Testimonials

  • What exactly is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a subtle yet powerful and non-invasive therapy.

Its roots lie in ancient Egypt and in more recent times was developed through the introduction of zone therapy, where it is believed that zones within the body directly link or reflect tissue, muscles, organs and systems.

Zone therapy led to the precise reflexology that exists today.

Reflexology is a science based on the principle that reflexes on the hands, feet ears, face and other parts of the body relate to or directly link to other parts and by stimulating a point on the foot, for example, we can encourage a positive effect on the area within the body this point relates to.

  • What can I expect from a reflexology treatment?

When you contact me to book a treatment, I will aim to get back to you as quickly as I can. I will always attempt to ring you and have a conversation about your reasons for reaching out.

At this point I will decide as to whether reflexology is suitable for your needs.

This is also an opportunity to gather some information on your general health. This enables me to develop a treatment plan that can best support you.

At this point I will explain a little bit more about what you can expect.

When you arrive for your first treatment, we will go through a consultation to include a medical history, this is an important part of the first and initial treatment and helps me support you.

The initial treatment can last anything up to an hour and a half.

You can expect to be listened to and to feel safe, relaxed and secure within my welcoming and cosy treatment room.

As part of the treatment, I will assess the systems within your body using the reflexes on your feet, also, through tuning into your energy.

Intuition plays a large part in how I deliver reflexology and I often pick up on imbalances that are not mentioned by the client, these can be physical or emotional.

A variety of techniques and methods will be used during the treatment, and you can expect to receive a wonderfully relaxing foot massage as part of this.

At no point should you experience pain or discomfort. Reflexology should not hurt.

What you will experience, however, is some unusual sensations within the reflexes I am stimulating. You may also feel tender spots but at no point during the treatment will I cause you to feel pain.

It is common for clients to feel sensations like a tingle or buzzing in other areas of the body. This demonstrates that I am engaging the body’s natural healing ability.

  • Why Choose Reflexology?

Reflexology is a very gentle but also powerful therapy with many benefits including:

  • Reduces stress and encourages a deep level of relaxation.
  • Improves circulation.
  • Helps cleanse the body and remove toxins.
  • Balances the whole system.
  • Invigorates and revitalises.
  • What can reflexology help with ?

Reflexology brings an overall sense of calm and balance and can help individuals relax, resulting in the engagement of the parasympathetic nervous system. This enables clients to live day by day in a much more harmonious manner.

Systems within the body will be stimulated and stabilised, helping hormones to be balanced and for important natural chemicals to be released where needed, as a result reducing pain and inflammation.

The are many reasons for people to receive reflexology and some of the most frequent are:

  • Anxiety, depression and stress
  • Insomnia
  • Chronic pain
  • Fertility
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Allergies
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Emotional trauma
  • Physical trauma
  • Cancer
  • Terminal Illness

This list is by no means exhaustive and there are many more conditions that reflexology can support individuals with.
